Flexible Learning
Flexible Learning, as the name suggests, offers diverse supported education for students in mainstream with a diagnosed disability, social, emotional and behavioural support needs.
Students accessing Flexible Learning have Education Adjustment Plans (EAP) or Student Support Plans (SSP), and typically are active clients of Schools Support Services Disability and Engagement.
Education programs target individual needs, planned in collaboration with parents/carers, students (where appropriate), teachers and external agencies where necessary. Flexible Learning supports mainstream curriculum core subject and specialist subjects with intensive curriculum, through to 100% alternative curriculum; the Flexible Learning can create individual programs that include a range of these.
Palmerston Special Education Centre
The Special Education Centre (SEC) is a purpose built centre on the grounds of Palmerston College 10-12 campus catering for the needs of students with disabilities in both the Middle and Senior years of schooling. Enrolment in SEC is subject to the student meeting the Department of Education (DOE) eligibility criteria. Please talk to the College if you need more information about verification.
Our comprehensive curriculum program is values based, ensuring that all students are provided with the full range of life skills and tools that foster independence. Our focus is on ensuring our students are supported whilst developing an appropriate pathway for the future.
