Tournament of Minds at Palmerston College

Tournament of Minds is an annual extra-curricular team competition for students in primary up to Year 10. Due to COVID-19 the competition looked a little different this year, with no national or international finals taking place. Rather, a standalone NT competition was organised, attracting close to a hundred teams from across the territory.

After not competing in Tournament of Minds regularly in past years, Palmerston College entered six teams of in this years’ competition, supervised by a team of dedicated teachers. Each team of seven students was presented with a creative challenge that they had to address in a five minute video that they would then submit for judging, with the awards ceremony taking place via Zoom.

Two teams from Palmerston College received medals this year, with ‘Romulans Team’ from the 7-9 campus taking home runner up in the secondary STEM division and ‘The Samurai Tortoises’ from the 10-12 campus winning the secondary Arts division.

Palmerston College looks forward to continuing this momentum in 2021!
